Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about CertNode

What is CertNode?

CertNode is accountability infrastructure for the AI age. We provide cryptographic proof for transactions, content, and AI agents using RFC 3161 timestamps, ES256 signatures, and independent verification.

What products does CertNode offer?

Four products across the accountability spectrum: Reflex (automated dispute defense for Stripe), Shield (managed service for high-value sales), Platform (self-service API for developers), and Agent SDK (accountability for AI agents). All built on the same cryptographic proof infrastructure.

What are cryptographic receipts?

Cryptographic receipts are RFC 3161 timestamped, ES256-signed transaction records that serve as independent proof of events. Each proof includes a 3-layer verification: CertNode signature, RFC 3161 TSA, and optional Bitcoin anchor. Proofs remain verifiable using open standards.

How does Reflex work?

Reflex monitors your Stripe account for disputes. When a chargeback is filed, it automatically gathers evidence (cryptographic receipts, delivery proof, customer history) and submits a compelling defense to Stripe within 60 seconds. No manual work required.

What does CertNode cost?

Pricing varies by product. Reflex charges a 15% success fee on recovered dispute amounts — you only pay when you win (no monthly fee). Cryptographic receipts start at $0.01 per receipt with volume discounts. Enterprise plans available with custom pricing.

Do I need to be technical to use CertNode?

No. Reflex installs with one click from the Stripe App Marketplace and runs automatically. If you're using our API for cryptographic receipts, basic development knowledge is helpful but we provide SDKs and detailed documentation.

What payment platforms do you support?

Currently, Reflex supports Stripe. Our cryptographic receipt API works with any payment platform (Stripe, Shopify, WooCommerce, PayPal, Square, etc.). We're expanding platform support based on customer demand.

Is my data secure?

Yes. CertNode uses AES-256 encryption at rest and TLS 1.3 in transit. We're hosted on enterprise infrastructure (AWS/Supabase) with strict access controls. We never store payment card data.

Can I cancel anytime?

Yes. There are no long-term contracts or cancellation fees. You can disconnect anytime from your dashboard.

What if I lose a dispute?

For Reflex, you don't pay anything if we lose. We only charge the 15% success fee when we win and recover the disputed amount.

Do you support multiple Stripe accounts?

Yes. You can connect multiple Stripe accounts to one CertNode account. Each account is billed separately based on usage.

How do I get started?

For Reflex, install from the Stripe App Marketplace and activate in one click. For cryptographic receipts via API, sign up for a developer account at certnode.io and get your API keys. Full documentation available at certnode.io/docs.

What kind of support do you offer?

All customers get email support (support@certnode.io) with 24-48 hour response time. Paid plans include priority support (4-8 hours) and live chat Monday-Friday 9am-6pm PST. Enterprise customers get dedicated account managers.

Can I integrate CertNode with my existing systems?

Yes. Our REST API and webhooks make integration straightforward. We provide SDKs for Node.js, Python, Go, and Ruby. Custom integrations available for Enterprise customers.
