What is Sentinel?

Sentinel monitors AI agent-mediated payments on your Stripe account. When AI assistants like ChatGPT, Copilot, or Perplexity make purchases on behalf of your customers using Stripe's Agentic Commerce Protocol (ACP), Sentinel tracks every transaction, identifies the agent platform, and alerts you to anomalies.

What is Agentic Commerce?

Stripe's Agentic Commerce Protocol (ACP) allows AI agents to make purchases on behalf of customers. The customer authorizes an agent via a Shared Payment Token (SPT), which grants the agent permission to spend up to a certain amount.

This is already happening. ChatGPT can book flights, Copilot can purchase software licenses, and Perplexity can order products. As a merchant, you need visibility into which purchases are human-initiated vs. agent-initiated.

Sentinel provides that visibility by listening for SPT webhook events and mapping them to your payment intents. No code changes on your end.

Install from Stripe Marketplace

Search “CertNode Sentinel” in the Stripe App Marketplace and install.

Automatic Monitoring

Sentinel begins tracking agent payments immediately. No configuration needed.

Configure Alerts (Optional)

Open Sentinel settings in the Stripe Dashboard to set alert thresholds.

Do I need to change my code?

No. Sentinel works via Stripe webhooks. Install the app and monitoring starts automatically.

Which AI agents does it detect?

ChatGPT, Copilot, Perplexity, Claude, Gemini, Cursor, and more. Unknown agents are tracked too.

How does it help with disputes?

If you also use CertNode Reflex, agent payment data automatically enriches your dispute evidence. SPT authorization proves the cardholder consented to the purchase.

Is the free tier really free?

What data does Sentinel access?
