Prove the condition. Deny the false claim.
Returns abuse and warranty fraud cost retailers tens of billions a year, and the merchant almost never has tamper-proof proof of what shipped or what came back. CertNode captures cryptographically signed, independently timestamped evidence of item condition at fulfillment and at return — so a disputed warranty or return is decided on evidence, not the customer's word.
Detection is not proof
Fraud-scoring tools flag suspicious returns. They do not give you a tamper-evident record of the item's condition that survives a dispute. That record is the gap.
Condition captured at fulfillment
Photos and serial/condition data are hashed, signed, and independently timestamped at ship time — proof of exactly what left your warehouse, dated before any claim.
Condition captured at return
The same signed capture at intake shows what actually came back — wrong item, used, damaged, or empty box — against the dated record of what shipped.
Tamper-evident, not self-reported
Each capture is signed (ES256), RFC 3161 timestamped, and Bitcoin-anchored — built to the FRE 902(13) standard. An internal photo log is a claim; this is evidence a counterparty cannot dismiss as edited after the fact.
Same engine as dispute defense
This reuses CertNode's pre-dispute capture — the same cryptographic evidence that defends chargebacks, applied to warranty and return claims.
